The Most frustrating time.

This is the stage of your internet business that can be most frustrating. Even if you are just using affiliate products, it usually takes quite a bit of effort to get things just right before you are ready to “open your shop”. The frustrating part is when you realize that no one is coming into your store to even look at your products.

This is the weird thing about the internet, there are millions of people using it, but when you want just a few to stop by your place, the streets seem to be deserted!

Where to find visitors.

Of course one simple method is to go and buy some visitors by placing an advert with Google adwords. This can work out well if you are sure that your product is really needed by lots of people and that you will get a excellent conversion rate from your sales page that will easliy cover your click costs.

But if you are not so sure about it then pay per click can be a very expensive way of advertising. You can easily go through a hundred dollars a day (that is $6000 in just 2 months) and have very few sales from those visitors. Before getting into pay per click you need to study the keywords and the competition for those keywords.

Free methods of getting traffic.

There are several free methods to get traffic and in addition to being free, they have another Huge advantage over ppc traffic. You see with ppc traffic, you are not building anything permanent. As soon as you stop paying – no traffic! But with the methods I list below, the traffic starts small but gradually builds up over time and after several months, you have a dependable stream of visitors that are interested in your niche.

Using Facebook, Myspace, Twitter

Using 2.0 websites to get your message out these days is essential if you want to attract plenty of free traffic. What I have learned, is that there is no magic traffic pill, you get the best results from continually adding more signposts to your website. These signposts are articles, forum posts, blog posts and even your own small blog sites which link to your main site. Over time all these add up to building your internet presence and placing your business on a solid foundation.
