Mrsa Infection – Empiric Oral Antimicrobial Therapy



In the treatment of Community bought mrsa infection, no one has derived a specific treatment that would be the effective one to deal with this infection. Many treatment methods that are recommended for the mrsa infection are mostly based on past experience in treating specific mrsa infection and relying on expert judgment. There are many people who have treated the mrsa infection that is of CA type by using the non-beta lactam antimicrobials where the patient has penicillin allergies. In case of patients whose infections can be categorized as mild it is preferred to perform the incision and drainage procedure on the abscesses without the help of an antimicrobial therapy. If the patients are diagnosed with infections that are considered serious and if they are very ill then the antimicrobial therapy should be used along with incision and drainage procedure. In case patients have immune suppression or are affected with diabetes mellitus or if the patient is a child or an infant, then antimicrobial therapy should be used in such patients. After treatment, patients should be advised to revisit the health care provider in case they do not see any improvement within 2 to 3 days or if there is illness and any symptoms that appear on the infected site
