Triplets

Triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets etc- all these belong to the ‘miraculous and incredible’ birth category. There are incredible cases of women having 2 wombs. Most of these women generally have hard pregnancies, which do not proceed to full term. To safeguard the babies and mother, generally, the babies are delivered by caesarean section much before full term and are hence termed premature births. There are other incredible cases of triplet births. A pregnancy in each womb in such cases is generally believed impossible, but over the last 50 years, about 70 cases of twin births- one in each womb-has been reported. But triplets from two wombs are a phenomenon nearly unheard of and have happened in a hospital some years back. It is quite amusing to hear the hapless parents diligently calculating the number of baby diapers their triplets will need in a year. Some estimate that they would need 10,000 diapers a year, some place the figure closer to 12,000!! Now, can you imagine the astronomical costs this would amount to? But, generosity and compassion of humane people knows no boundaries. Hospitals give these parents a year or two year’s supply of diapers. Baby products manufacturing companies give the free baby samples of many boxes of diapers and infant formula.
